Hall Hire FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for enquiring about hall hire at 1st Kingston Hill. We rent the hall out for parties at weekends and use this income to maintain the hall and support this community asset for the benefit of young people in North Kingston.

When is the hall available for parties?

At weekends there are two sessions each day: 10.00am-2.00pm or 2.00pm-6.00pm. This is designed to allow a 2-hour party with an hour on either side to set up and clean away.  Once in possession of the keys' authorised access is only permitted at the alloted/booked times, if access is gained at any other time, you may incur additional charges, or your deposit held.

Is it possible to view the hall before booking?

Sorry, it is not possible to view the hall prior to booking for the security of other hall users.

What is the hire fee?

The hire fee is currently £100 plus a refundable cash deposit of £50 when the keys are collected. Payment is now required at the time of booking.

Will I get my deposit back?

When you arrive, the hall should be clean and tidy. If it is not, please send a photograph of any issues to enquiries@1stkingstonhill.orgWe will return your deposit when the keys are returned, and we have had confirmation from the next user that the hall has been left clean and tidy.

Does the hire fee include cleaning and waste removal?

No. The hall is operated by volunteers, and we expect the hall to be cleaned and tidied with all rubbish removed from the premises at the end of the hire period.

Do we need to bring our own cleaning equipment?

Brooms, dustpan & brush, mops and sweepers can be found in the cupboard to the right of the double doors leading to the main hall

What equipment is available?

Chairs and tables are available, as is the fully equipped kitchen (cooker/large oven, microwave, kettles, fridge, crockery, cutlery etc).  Any outdoor equipment is for the sole use of Hummingbirds School and must not be disturbed in anyway

Can we use the outside space or just the hall?

You can use the field but please make sure children are always supervised.

Please ensure everyone especially children:

Stay within the area marked by the cordon rope.

Don’t venture onto the area along the side on the right as this is used by another hirer and their equipment.

Don’t venture onto the hardstanding area beyond the fence for any reason including lost play equipment.

Don’t use any equipment you find in the field, please bring your own.

Please also be aware, the outside space can become very muddy depending on the weather and you would need to clean the patio and the floors inside, so please bear this in mind.

Can I put up decorations?

Yes, but please avoid disturbing any of the Scout Section posters and notices.  Please also remember to take your decorations down returning the hall to how you found it including careful removal of Sellotape and blue tack.
