Group Update

2024

A Brief Insight

Our Group continues to grow both in strength and in number, with increased membership within our Beaver, Cub & Scout Sections.

We continue to remain focused on our Group Development plan and the upgrading of our wonderful headquarters.  With solid plans already in place to complete the redevelopment of the Groups main equipment store by the end of the spring.

With the time and effort from many Leaders, Parents, Members and The Good Gym team our Service Weekends continue to produce remarkable changes to our Headquarters, allowing us all to benefit from the amazing facilities and space we have.

The Group has recently set up an Events Team who will be overseeing and planning some of our social and fundraising events throughout 2024.  Welcome to them all and thank you in advance for stepping up as volunteers within 1KH.

Congratulations to.

Woody who has received his 20 years Long Service Award.

Jo who has received her 20 years Long Service Award.

Amelia who has completed her Adult Leadership Training and been Awarded her Woodbadge.

Meghan who has completed her Adult Leadership Training and been Awarded her Woodbadge.

David who has stepped into our new Assistant Beaver Scout Leader role.

Beaver Update

Our Colony remains to be a thriving, fun, enthusiastic and lively part of the Group.  With new members on the administration team help behind the scenes great new programmes are being put into place, and with Sheepy & Dave at the helm our Beavers really experience the true meaning of Scouting.

Cubs
Update

Cubs are split into small groups called Sixes. Every Cub takes the Scout Promise. They play games, but also have a broader activity base than the Beavers, covering such areas as: Outdoor Scouting, Sports, Hobbies, Creativity, and looking into other countries and cultures.

Scouts Update

Our Troop is almost at bursting point and is slowley growing to what could soon be our biggest yet.

With our Troop numbers increasing on what appears to be a weekly basis, we now operate 5 Patrols and have a broad age variation from 10-14yr olds.

Our winter camp took place over the weekend of the 26th & 28th January, with our Troop heading south to Bournemouth.
